One80 Place Has a New Board Chair

One80 Place’s Board of Directors elected Anne K. Surrett chair

Charleston, SC, September 14, 2020, One80 today Place announced Anne K. Surrett will serve as chair of One80 Place’s Board of Directors.

Anne K. Surrett is the regional managing director for Wells Fargo Private Bank in South Carolina. As a senior leader in the region, Mrs. Surrett is accountable for delivering an exceptional experience for clients of Wells Fargo Private Bank; driving business planning and execution; and recruiting, retaining, coaching and developing talent. A 1979 graduate of the University of South Carolina, Mrs. Surrett began her banking career in 1983 and worked with Wachovia, a predecessor firm to Wells Fargo, for 18 years.

In addition to her new role on the One80 Place board, Mrs. Surrett is a member and past Chair of the Tiffany Circle of the American Red Cross; Lowcountry Chapter, a member and committee sub-chair of the Wells Fargo Private Wealth Diversity and Inclusion Council, and serves on the Private Wealth Regional Director Advisory Council.

Anne is succeeding Herbert L. Drayton, III as chair. Herbert will continue to serve on the board of directors as Immediate Past Chair.  Anne’s term leading the board will include some new members. They are Chad Anderson (Blackbaud), Jessica Browning, MBA (Winkler Group), and Judge Ittriss Jenkins.

During the winter of 1984, a group of business, civic, and religious leaders, led by Charleston Mayor Joseph P. Riley joined forces to found what is known today as One80 Place.  One80 Place’s mission is to end and prevent homelessness.  Today, the organization helps more than 800 individuals annually end or avert homelessness through re-housing case management, nightly shelter, a health clinic, legal services, and employment and education services, among others.
