You Help Meet Our Guests’ Needs.

As the largest homeless shelter in the Lowcountry, One80 Place typically has a lot going on at once. Thankfully, we have many hands on deck to help, including those of our Men’s Shelter Director, Nathan Greer. Nathan’s job is as varied and dynamic as the needs of One80 Place’s guests. Daily, he ensures the smooth operation of the men’s dormitories, the continued quality of our service delivery, and above all, that the needs of the shelter guests and frontline staff are being met.

When asked about the challenge of ending and preventing homelessness amidst COVID-19, Nathan had this to say: “For us, the mission never changed. That is what I love about working here. We have been presented with a situation unlike any other, but we have not wavered or lost sight of those we have the good fortune to serve. Our response has been rapid, coordinated, and thorough, and we have continued to produce positive results for our clients. I am proud to work here.”

Having worked in several other communities in the non-profit sector, Nathan feels strongly that the support from the Charleston community in helping One80 Place achieve the vision of everyone having a home is inspiring.
