Finding Home Through Homeless Court
Sarah, a 47-year-old cancer survivor, endured numerous challenges that led her into homelessness. For years, Sarah lived with and cared for her mother who was battling Alzheimer’s disease. Following her mother’s death, Sarah’s life took an unexpected turn when she lost her housing. Grief stricken and living in an
encampment, her life quickly spiraled out of control. Frequently cited and arrestedfor minor offenses associated with homelessness further compounded hertroubles. Sarah was hopeless and trapped in a seemingly endless and vicious cycle.
The turning point in Sarah's life came when she was referred to One80 Place. With guidance and support from her case manager and legal services, Sarah rebuilt her life. She found housing, obtained employment and regained her self sufficiency proving that a second chance and a helping hand can make all the difference.
